Paul Koch, M.D.

Dr. Koch is a Founder and the Medical Director of East Lyme Laser Vision Correction Centers in Connecticut. In addition to being a LASIK Surgeon, Dr. Koch specializes in Cataract Surgery, Lens Implantation, all types of Refractive Surgery and Laser Eye Surgery including LASIK Surgery, PRK, LASEK & Custom Wavefront LASIK. Dr. Koch has been named one of the Top 100 Ophthalmologists and one of the Top 15 Cataract Surgeons in North America by Ophthalmology Times.

He has been cited in each issue of the Best Doctors in America. He has won many awards including the Mericos H. Whittier Foundation's Lifetime Achievement Award, the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Honor Award, the David Kelman Foundation's Golden Hands Award, the Irish-American Ophthalmology Society's Top-Gun Phaco Award, the Hoffer Award and the International Film Festival of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery Award.

Dr. Koch has written seven textbooks on eye surgery including cataract surgery that are used as the standard reading materials for Ophthalmology residency programs throughout the United States and worldwide. He has recently authored a book about corneal refractive surgery including LASIK Eye Surgery as well as writing many journal articles, book chapters, and specialty editorials on Cataract Surgery, Lens Replacement Surgery, LASIK and Custom Wavefront LASIK. Dr. Koch has been instrumental in assisting with the adoption of many advances in cataract surgery, including techniques that permit surgery to be performed comfortably without anesthetic injections, and with vision recovery beginning only a few minutes after the operation is completed. Dr. Koch  is a pionerr in Refractive Surgery and was one of the first Refractive Surgeons in America performing Keratomileusis in 1979, Keratophakia in 1980, and Radial Keratotomy in 1983. He is able to relate on a personal basis with patients as has also had radial keratotomy himself many years ago. Dr. Koch performs all types of Laser Eye Surgery including LASIK & Custom LASIK, Lens Replacement Surgery using Crystalens, ReZoom and ReSTOR, and Phakic Lens Implants such as Verisyse and Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) for extreme nearsightedness.  

Michael A. Negrey, M.D.

Michael Negrey, M.D. joined East Lyme Laser Vision Center in October 2005. He provides Laser Eye surgery for the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism including LASIK, PRK, Epi-LASIK and LASEK. Dr. Negrey received his Medical Degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his internship at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver and his Ophthalmology Residency at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Negrey completed a Fellowship in Cornea, Refractive Surgery and External Disease at the University of Illinois making him a LASIK specialist. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Rhode Island Medical Society and Pennsylvania Medical Society.

Jane Ireland, O.D.

Jane Ireland, O.D. is a Connecticut Optometrist specializing is Laser Vision Correction consultation and patient care at East Lyme Laser Vision Center in East Lyme, Connecticut. Dr. Ireland received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Connecticut and her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania of Optometry. She has been providing eye care for Connecticut patients since 1997. Together with Medical Director, Paul Koch, M.D. and Corneal & Refractive Surgeon Michael Negrey, M.D., Dr. Ireland works to evaluate patients for Laser Eye Surgery including LASIK in Connecticut as well as caring for their needs after LASIK Surgery or any specialized types of LASIK Eye Surgery.
